For some time now, we have been working with the Small Steps Project, and we thought it was about time we talked more about it. Its such a fantastic cause and we are so delighted to provide support for them. It’s the brainchild of Amy Hanson, who was working at an HIV hospice in Cambodia when she visited the Stung Meanchey Dump in Phnom Penh and saw at first hand hundreds of barefoot children scavenging in waste.
Now Small Steps provides emergency aid, shoes and food to children and communities living on municipal rubbish dumps around the world. They also provide support for children to take steps into education and adults into employment.
How do they do this? Well the genius idea is Celebrity Shoes. Since 2010 the Small Steps Celebrity Shoe Auction been raising money to provide this essential support, and over 200 celebrities have donated their shoes. An online auction takes place each a year, so anyone can be in with the chance of bidding on their favourite celebrity's shoes and Small Steps also holds a live event and auction bi-yearly where some of the Celebrities themselves appear to auction their own shoes.
So how do we help out? Well we work with Small Steps to take amazing photography of the celebrity shoes ensuring they look as fabulous as possible so they raise as much money as possible! You can see some examples of our work below.
We are really proud to help out with such a great cause, and to work with such a fantastic and motivated team that is raising funds and providing support for those genuinely in need.
So please take a look at the Small Steps website, and check out all the good work they do. Why not take a look at the auction - you could be the proud owner of some fabulous footwear.
